Bluebell woods park in Guernsey

The best Guernsey walks

There are miles of stunning walks in Guernsey, but one of the prettiest has to be a walk through Bluebell Woods in March and April. Located at the southern end of St Peter Port, within walking distance of the town centre, you will find Bluebell Woods. Aptly named, in springtime the woodland floor becomes a carpet of blue flowers beneath the budding tree canopy. A wonderful place to walk at any time of year with trails leading onto the cliff paths and wonderful views from the south-east of the island. Don’t forget your camera!

Guernsey also has some of the most breathtaking coastal walks, where guests can immerse themslves in the islands rich history and abundant wildlife.

The best seafood sandwich

A manageable cliff walk from St Peter Port to Fermain, beautiful all year round but particularly in spring when bluebells pop up  in the woods. Fermain Bay is popular for swimming and can also be accessed by bus
or car with a short (but very steep) walk down the hill.

The Fermain Beach café offers drinks, ice cream, cakes and sandwiches – the seafood sandwich is a favourite – with chunky chips if you have walked there!

Vist Herm

A visit to Herm Island is a treat for everyone. A short walk round the island and you can choose from either Belvoir Bay or Shell Beach for swimming and kayaking.

Staying overnight is a real treat too. When the last of the day trippers set off on the Trident it can feel like you have the island to yourself. Choose from the Whitehouse Hotel, self-catering cottages or camping.

Sunset fish & chips

Undoubtedly one of the best places to watch the sun set at the end of the day is Cobo. Relax on the beach with family and friends and watch the sun set,  making the pink granite coastline glow.

Conclude your evening with fish and chips or a picnic to make the most of the experience.

Equestrian experience

La Carrière Equestrian Centre is the ideal place to be if you are a keen rider. Lessons are available for all levels and ages, and special  arrangements can be made for hacks out towards L’Ancresse and Ladies Bay.

Surfers' paradise

There are a number of great beaches for surfing in Guernsey but Vazon offers perhaps the best options for both experienced and novices. Guernsey Surf School is also located here offering lessons for those wishing to learn or improve their skills.
