Okavango Delta, Botswana
The story of Xigera Safari Lodge is one of renewal. Of rebirth and family legacy, and of the pioneering spirit that drives us to seek out Africa’s wild spaces. The same spirit that inspired this remarkable reimagining, perhaps a complete reinvention, of an Okavango Delta safari.
This is Xigera (pronounced ‘kee-jera’), named for the Pied Kingfisher that makes its home amid the watery channels of Botswana’s Moremi Game Reserve.
Every aspect is handcrafted to beguile our guests’ senses and stir their souls – from the evocative interiors to one-of-a-kind encounters.
But Xigera is equally a line in the sand. A raising of the bar. A bold statement in the realm of luxury safaris, and an Okavango Delta safari experience like no other.
The much-loved Leopard Bar & Restaurant draws visitors and locals for its superb bespoke cocktails and dining menu, which has earned the prestigious AA One Rosette for Culinary Excellence. Guests can watch Executive Chef Kevin Semple cooking up a storm through the open kitchen, and indulge in everything from the freshest Guernsey seafood, sourced locally from Manor Farm Foods, to celebrated signature dishes created by our founder, Beatrice Tollman. Afternoon tea, meanwhile, is a real occasion, served in the Zebra Lounge or out on the sun-washed Terrace.
Fine wine is an integral part of The Duke of Richmond experience, and our extensive wine list is filled with fine vintages from around the world. Within it you will encounter a careful selection from the great names from the Old World – classic wines from Burgundy, Bordeaux, and Champagne – complemented by a wide range of wines from the New World, many of them offering outstanding value.
We are proud to present vintages from our celebrated sister wine estate Bouchard Finlayson, makers of some of South Africa’s most distinguished wines.
