Category: Art & Culture Dates: Thursday, 20 March 2014 to Friday, 04 April 2014 Closed to the public, Guernsey Prison's imposing walls may make visitors to the island wonder what goes on there. Now, they have the opportunity to find out. A new photography exhibition taking place at the Gatehouse Gallery in St Peter Port puts the camera directly into the hands of the inmates, allowing them to capture images of their everyday routines. The brainchild of photographer Jean-Christophe Godet, this is a fascinating display that has been selected above 5,000 other entries to receive the William Archer Platinum Award for photography. Developed with the intention of offering the prisoners themselves the chance of discovering the beauty of photography and how it can be used as a means of self-expression, the exhibition is considered an absolute triumph. Stay just around the corner at The Duke of Richmond Hotel, where you can enjoy a fantastic three-course meal after the viewing as part of the Keep Calm - Eat and Drink package.
