November 24th

Hearing the likes of Bach and Handel perform their symphonies live is of course an impossible dream for classical music enthusiasts.

However, guests at The Duke of Richmond - a luxury Guernsey hotel located in the hub of the capital St Peter Port - next month could get to see the next best thing, as the Guernsey Bach Choir and Orchestra comes to town.

At 20:00 GMT on November 24th, conductor Alan Gough will take to the stage with special guest mezzo soprano Alexandra Gibson and baritone Giles Underwood to play a variety of works from some of the world's best-loved composers.

Furthermore, the choir - which was formed in February 2007 and is now renowned for its high level of performance - will be joined by an orchestra of strings, oboes and trumpets to help them achieve stirring renditions of some of the finest offerings of Bach and Handel, such as the latter's Zadok the Priest.

The concert takes place on a Saturday night, but why not make a weekend of it by taking advantage of The Duke of Richmond's three nights for the price of two offer?
